Annotation
conelrad has been fiddling with electronic music since around 2000. Influenced by artists such as Boards of Canada, Stars of the Lid, Aphex Twin, Radiohead, Mogwai, My Bloody Valentine and many others, his downtempo sound uses guitars, synths and beats to produce dark, atmospheric, shoegazing, yet accessible electronica. A bit too obsessed with the cold war and having a love/hate fascination with the perverse, supernatural, beautiful horror of nuclear weapons, these themes permeate and inform nearly all of his work.
His first full-length “album”, Function Creep, was made available for the first time in August 2007, and almost exactly two years to the day, he released his second album Sure is the Risk Made. The centrepiece track from Function Creep, "Target City", was played on 6Music several times in 2007.
All of the music conelrad makes is done with the wonderfully strange and tempermental piece of free software known as Jeskola Buzz, along with a beaten up Mexican Telecaster and SM58. He would move on to something else, but has no real reason to.
If you like the music, copy it to CDs and give it to your friends. All conelrad's music is free for you to download, enjoy, and to share, from his website at http://munchhouse.com/conelrad.
