Born in Malawi, moved to South Africa after WWII. Arranger, composer, drummer. Moved with the shining lights of SA jazz during the dark times of the 1950s thru 1980s. Two of his compositions, Chapita and African Jive are included in the Africa 100 collection compiled by Pitchfork Media in 2005 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Africa_100)
