~ Group

Annotation

Brother are a 4-piece brit-pop band from Slough, Berkshire, UK. They are Leonard Newell, Frank Colucci, Samuel Jackson and Josh Ward. They describe their sound as “Gritpop”. They were recently signed to major global record label Geffen (part of Polydor, Universal) and to EMI Publishing. In October 2010, Zane Lowe, picked up on Brother’s blog site www.acidlove.net. The site featured a video of the band setting-up and playing a guerrilla gig in front of the railway station of their hometown, Slough, along with a promo video they had shot using money they had earned playing local gigs. Zane Lowe subsequently played their demo of Darling Buds of May on his BBC Radio 1 show every evening for a week. This sparked an A&R frenzy, and the band were quickly signed to major record label Geffen Records.
