Annotation

Born Herman Davis II in Cleveland, Mr Burrell was a early admirer of Marion Brown.
He eventually became part of the free jazz extremist NYC magma, along with Byard Lancaster, Beaver Harris, Grachan Monchur III, and a few others, and was a regular in Shepp's formations.
His solo career took off in the 70's, and he continued to play and produce records till now.
